The Antica Locanda del Golf will let you feel the exclusive hospitality of the old aristocratic residences immersed in the silence of nature just a few just a few kilometers from the sea. The hotel is located in a closed area within the archaeological park protecting the ancient Greek settlement of Kamarina, in the province of Ragusa, at the heart of eastern Sicily.The timeless ruins, situated on a cliff which drops into the sea, are also home to a museum of regional archaeological interest. With its rooms and detached suites, not to mention the golf courses, the Antica Locanda del Golf is an exclusive resort immersed in the beautiful countryside surrounding Ragusa, situated on an ancient feudal property which from 1300 has belonged to local nobility, namely the Arezzo family. The rooms, which in time past were used as lakeside hunting lodges for the guests of Marquis Arezzo, have all been carefully restored, enabling today’s guests to experience the same aristocratic hospitality in a comfortable, modern environment. The Country Suite are all tastefully furnished, designed to meet every foreseeable requirement. The “Pino d’Aleppo” and “Cava Randello/Passo Marinaro” nature reserves, both open to visitors, are just a few miles away. The neighbouring baroque towns in the Val di Noto are included on the Unesco World Heritage list. The best known of these are: Ragusa and Ibla, as well as nearby Scicli, Modica, Caltagirone and Noto. Donnafugata Castle, one of the grandest country residences of Sicilian gentry open to the pubblic, is less than 10Km from the hotel, while only a short drive away are other notable sites such as Piazza Armerina (Agrigento) and Morgantina (Syracuse). Also to be admired is the coastline; 20Km of fine golden sand stretching past Scoglitti, Kamarina and Punta Secca, towards Marina di Ragusa and beyond.

The guest of The Locanda will be welcomed in the two 18 holes courses inside the property.

The first one is a Gary Player design inside an area tree lined by carobs and Olive trees, close to an ancient Greek necropolis. The second course was designed by Franco Piras. It is surrounded by a beautiful maquis and breathtaking landscape from sea to the Etna mountain.

Sport, sea, art and relax

By Bike: enchanting bicycles rides starting from Contrada Salina to the paths in the close natural reserve of Pino d’Aleppo, after that you can admire the bridge over the Ippari river a marvellous grove of reeds, natural woods and a beautiful landscaper with bogs that reachs the seaside.

By horse: on request guided horses rides along the rural roads reaching the donnafugata castle.

By car: discovering the Baroque district of the Val di Noto, in one hour: Ragusa.Ibla, Scicli and Modica, but also the close art towns of Caltagirone and Noto.

From the rigorous makeover of the summer pavillon of Duchess De la Craperie, built in the XVIII century, a spacious and unique food & bevarage area has been created.To the restaurant “our cousine” lets you to discover the gastronomic
heritage of the “Ragusan area”. Its big beam is close to the lakes and the two courses inside the property, it is in a big park with its little italian garden.

Thanks to a fine and precise makeover we have realized 12 suites furnished with pieces of design and antiques. Our spacious rooms expressing both style and sobriety have been conceived to guarantee all sort of confort: two queen sized beds or a king size one,
huge bathrooms with a bathtub, shower, double sink, air conditioning, fridge, sat tv, hair drier and a safe.
